The facility of Nigerian Turkish International College in Wuse 2, Abuja has been gutted by fire in the wee hours of Wednesday 1st June 2022.
The unfortunate fire incident occurred around 6.50am and the control room of the FCT Fire Service was immediately alerted at the service headquarters in Asokoro, Abuja.
Mr Tauhid Ibrahim spokesperson of the service through a media chat confirmed to Fire Fighters Magazine correspondent the unfortunate fire incident and said, we had a call from Nigerian Turkish International College in Wuse 2, around 6.50 am and our fire men quickly turn out to the fire incident scene around 7am to put out the fire.
We were earlier informed about the enormity of the fire and we did arrive the incident scene with a backup water tank, he said.
DSF Ahmed Katsina, the incident commander that led the team on operation to the fire scene, and on the spot assessment, said the fire started at the technical section of the school, though other structures were not engulf with the fire outbreak, however no life was lost and the crew members from FCT Fire Service immediately deployed professional expertise and salvage the situation in less than no distance time, he said.
Engr. Sani Saidu, the Acting Director commended the management of Nigerian Turkish International College for calling the FCT Fire Service on time in an event of such fire outbreak, this is worth emulating, he said.
Sani reiterated that firefighters are not spirits the earlier you contact our control room the better service we deliver, I therefore use this medium to urge FCT residents to emulate such gesture.
Saini saidu, appreciated the FCT fire-fighters for their swift response to the scene of the fire incident.
