Guinness warehouse in Lagos gutted by fire

If there is anything to by, a warehouse of the Guinness brewery Nigeria Limited situated along the WEMPCO Road, Ogba, in Ikeja has been gutted by fire, Fire Fighters Magazine gathered.

Director-General, Lagos State Emergency Management Agency, Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, explained to reporters at the scene of the incident in Ikeja that emergency responders, including the LASEMA response team and officials of the Lagos State Fire and Rescue services, responded swiftly to contain the inferno, and the cause of the fire is yet to be ascertained as at the time of filling this report.

Olufemi said, “On arrival at the scene of the incident at the early hours of Wednesday 13/8/2020  it was observed that a warehouse of the Guinness brewery Nig Plc storing plastic crates for drinks has been engulf with fire.

“The immediate cause of the fire could not be determined. However, the Lagos State Emergency Management Agency responders and Lagos State Fire and Rescue Service officials are on ground to carry out a dampening exercise to forestall any spread or secondary incident.”
