Poor maintenance culture: Sixty Five Million Naira Fire-fighting equipment auctioned in Kaduna state

At the recently concluded Directors of state Fire Service Conference and the Controller General Federal Fire Service, reveal that fire fighting equipment worth sixty five million naira belonging to the Kaduna State Fire Service has been auctioned by the state Government due to lack of proper maintenance,  Fire Fighters Magazine gathered.

Speaking with reporters at the occasion, the Controller General of the Federal Fire Service, Alhj Liman Ibrahim frown at such revelation and advice the state Directors of Fire Services who are professionals in firefighting to advice their supervisory ministries to always include maintenance plans while procuring fire fighting trucks and its equipment, because there are very expensive. In the Federal Fire Service, the twelve fire fighting trucks delivered to us, we have send drivers that will mann these trucks for training by the manufacturers of the fire engine for proper handling and maintenance, he said.
