Kano State Fire Service on 13/5/2019 confirmed that a 15-year-old boy died in a well in Fagge LGA of the State.

Alhaji Saidu Mohammed, public relations officer of the Kano state fire service confirmed the death to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) in Kano.

He said the accident happened on Monday evening at No. 295 Gwagwarawa Quarters in the council area.

Mohammed told NAN that though fire-fighters responded to the distress call over the incident, firemen could only retrieve the body of the teenager from the well. Because we receive the call not immediately at the time of the incident, he said.

“We received a distress call from one Mai’unguwa Yakubu at 5:37 p.m. that a boy had fallen into a well.

“On receiving the information, we quickly sent our rescue team to the scene at 5:48 p.m.,” he said.

The official said that how the teenager died was being investigated.

“He was found dead and his corpse was handed over to the police,’’ the spokesman said.
