FCT Fire Service in collaboration with Fire Fighters Magazine seeks stronger ties with a leading company in the communication industry on establishing fire safety clubs in FCT schools with a view to stemming down incessant fire outbreaks in the nation’s capital.
Speaking at the occasion, Mr. Timveh Jeremiah, the spokesperson of the FCT Fire Service, who led the delegation to the regional headquarters office of the MTN in Abuja, said the incident of fire outbreaks and other related emergencies in the country particularly in the FCT has necessitated the need to enhance advocacy for fire safety enlightenment in all FCT schools.
He went further to say that, for the huge resources required to carry out such robust project, there is need for adequate funding, hence the need to partner with a leading corporate organisation like the MTN.
Mr. Gambo Audu, the Regional Manager, Security and Safety who welcomed the delegation on behalf of MTN, commended the initiative and thanked the team for finding MTN worthy to partner on such a laudable project at this time of the year where millions of naira are annually lost to various incidents of fire outbreaks in the country.
The manager said their organization is willing and ready to add its quota to saving lives and property by adding value to the society.
The Project Coordinator, Engr. Cyprian Effa , thanked the management team for their willingness to partner on the project and assured the MTN organization that the project is going to be beneficial to the tripartite organizations.
