The Ikeja out let of Forte Oil petrol station besides the Domestic Police Station, along Murtala Muhammed Airport, Lagos state, was recently gutted by fire and destroy properties worth millions of naira

 

Fire Fighters Magazine reporters gathered that the fire broke out at about 1.55pm and the cause of the fire outbreak was unknown as at the time of filing this report, the incident which later cause heavy traffic-lock- jam among users of the very busy Ikeja-Airport Road, left users of the road in jeopardy as motorist and passengers were scampering for refuge.

 

Thick smoke emanating from the petrol station could be sited as far as from the Mafoloku axis of the Airport Road and other parts of the metropolis, which left users of the road to take to their heels causing serious traffic lock-jam.

Eye witness at the scene of the incident who spoke on anonymity said fire fighters from both the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) and Lagos State Fire Service responded swiftly to mitigate the fire outbreak.

While speaking, the eye witness said, the firemen were able to prevent the fire from further spread in order not to affect other building close to the scene of the inferno. And the area was further cordon in order to curtail the gridlock he said.
